Rising fuel costs and public awareness of climate change mean that even greater pressure is placed on compost operators to reduce greenhouse gas and VOC emissions and odour. Quiksoil 506 has successfully addressed these problems by using microbiology instead of excess mechanisation. Of even greater importance, Quiksoil 506 provides a means by which compost can play an integral part in slowing climate change and decreasing CO2 levels in the upper atmosphere.

Quiksoil 506 has resulted in reduced odour concerns and complaints at a number of sites in the UK over the last two years. It has also: reduced fuel consumption and related emissions; reduced the activities which cause CO2 and VOC emissions by up to 75%; established more neutral pH levels in the final product; and achieved less mineralization and higher organic matter retention.
